problem statement
problem statement
We all know coffee—it's the world's most consumed beverage next to water. But for me, coffee is more than just a drink. It’s a ritual. A moment of calm, a burst of energy, and often, the start of the day.
The global coffee industry produces over 59 billion coffee pods annually, contributing to a massive single-use waste crisis. Consumers value convenience and ritual in their coffee experience, but existing sustainable alternatives disrupt that ritual with inconvenient disposal processes or machine incompatibility.
There is a clear gap in the market for a truly home-compostable, machine-compatible coffee pod—one that delivers sustainability without demanding behavioral change from consumers.
