Bunav
Brand Identity & Visual System
Bunav is an Ahmedabad-based accessories brand turning unused factory textiles into thoughtful, handcrafted bags. I partnered with the founder to build an identity that honours the traditional craft behind the making, while presenting it through a contemporary, design-forward lens.
Weaving yesterday’s textiles into today’s wardrobe.

LOGO SYMBOL
LOGO
Primary: The wordmark uses CoFo Rafine, chosen for its soft curves and subtle contrast. Its terminals echo woven threads and handcrafted details, striking a balance between elegance and approachability.
Wordmark: A radial motif created by four rotated ‘B’, a quiet nod to traditional Indian textile patterns. Designed to work as:
a monogram,
a stamp,
a pattern element,
and a digital icon.
This flexibility makes it especially effective for a growing brand with limited production resources.

COLOR SYSTEM
Primary Palette: Deep reds and earthy neutrals inspired by Ahmedabad’s brick kilns, soil, and textile workshops. These tones ground the brand in place and material reality.
Secondary Palette: Delicate accent hues drawn from the contrasts in Indian textiles, used intentionally to add moments of modern clarity.

TYPOGRAPHY
CoFo Rafine for headlines: soft and expressive.
Avenir for body and UI: clean, contemporary, and highly legible.
Together, they create a gentle rhythm between the soft arches of the city's architecture and modernity.
TYPOGRAPHY
IMAGERY
The imagery direction celebrates authenticity: behind the scenes of picking up textile swatches, textures, sizing them, and the quiet poetry of the making process.
Nothing feels staged; everything feels lived-in and honest.

APPLICATIONS
Since its a new business with slow production time, the founder wishes to launch the brand only on Instagram. Built on a modular grid using the symbol, color accents, and typography system. Designed to give the founder consistency without needing heavy design intervention.

IMPACT
The identity elevated Bunav from a craft-origin brand to a refined, contemporary label.
The visual system now scales easily across digital and print touchpoints.
The founder can confidently present the brand to stockists, collaborators, and customers with a clear story and aesthetic direction.
PERSONAL REFLECTION
This project strengthened my ability to translate cultural cues and handmade processes into a modern visual system. It reinforced the importance of balance, respecting heritage while designing for how people engage with brands today.
