The little things

The little things

For many, coffee is a quiet moment of comfort. But behind that daily ritual? 59 billion pods headed for landfill each year. Most sustainable options feel like a disruption—asking people to change the very rituals they cherish.

I asked myself: What if sustainability didn’t need to be loud to be effective?

A pod that fits in

A pod that fits in

BioBrewTech was my answer. A home-compostable, machine-compatible pod designed to work with existing habits—not against them. Made with BIOPBS, plant-fiber lids, and compostable linings, the design hides the innovation.

The goal? Let people enjoy their coffee, just without the waste.

I developed a multi-layered system:

  • Lid: Bio-fiber film to maintain freshness and allow air circulation

  • Shell: Bamboo pulp structure designed to withstand pressure + heat

  • Filter & inner liner: Compostable nanocellulose that filters effectively without residue

All components work seamlessly with existing machines. The user does nothing differently—but the earth thanks them.
